Michael Wiley

Engineering & Instrumentation

Michael graduated from Boston University’s College of Engineering with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. His work in the Nia Lab focuses on designing and fabricating custom hardware for lab experiments, from machined and 3D-printed fixtures to surgical cannulas and imaging flow channels. He also works on the development of multiple electromechanical pumping apparatuses to reduce hemolysis, and adapts the Crystal Ribcage design for individual studies.

Outside of the lab, he enjoys running, collecting antiques, and restoring his 1985 Porsche 944.
